Arquiteturas Film Festival [AFF] is the first international festival in Portugal dedicated to screening documentary, experimental, animation, and fiction films about architecture. Alongside film screenings, each edition features a rich public programme, including talks, debates, workshops, masterclasses, installations, exhibitions, pop-up bookshops, and guided tours.

Founded in 2013 by Sofia Mourato in Lisbon, AFF was originally organised by Do You Mean Architecture [DYMA], with one edition co-produced in collaboration with the Lisbon Architecture Triennale. After seven successful editions, the festival faced a pivotal moment in 2020, when DYMA postponed the event due to the Covid-19 pandemic, choosing to wait until in-person screenings could resume safely. The following year, INSTITUTO joined DYMA to co-organise the 2021 edition, held at Cinema São Jorge in Lisbon, marking a transition phase for the festival.

In 2022, AFF officially relocated to Porto, with INSTITUTO becoming the sole organiser under the direction of Paulo Moreira. This shift brought fresh energy to the festival, maintaining its original spirit while reinventing its future in a new city.
