The 2025 jury includes Fabrizio Gallanti (director of arc en rêve), Julia Albani (curator and critic), Romullo Baratto (architect, filmmaker and project manager at ArchDaily), Teresa Novais (architect and curator) and Vasco Mendes (filmmaker). For the festival’s 12th edition, the jury chose to move away from conventional award categories. Instead, they introduced unique trophy titles—right to the city, echoes from home, cultural resilience & narratives of diaspora—reflecting the interplay between each film’s subject and the overarching festival theme.

The 14 films in the Official Programme have been competing for awards that reflect the theme of the 12th edition, ‘At the Border.’ Each winning film receives a unique trophy designed by South African architect Sechaba Maape during his residency at INSTITUTO, produced in collaboration with ArtWorks. The new trophy reflects on the stratification and identity of African architecture.
