Rondalla para Can Lis (A Tale for Can Lis) is a poetic reflection on visits to a profoundly unique house, told through the memories of an equally remarkable girl. Blending visual essay and folk tale, the film explores the many dimensions that radiate from Jørn Utzon’s iconic residence on the island of Mallorca. A Mallorcan rondalla - a popular short narrative mixing fantasy, legend, and real events - inspires the film’s structure and tone. Filmmaker Pablo Serret de Ena spent two weeks living alone in Can Lis, and this work is the product of that deeply personal experience. The house, a 20th-century architectural landmark, encapsulates Utzon’s vision of creating spaces intimately tied to their natural and cultural surroundings.
