The movie is a journey through the construction process of the traditional communal house of Matsés people from the Amazon. In a time of cultural shifts, this collective effort has a connotation of self-representation as their leader remarks, “I’m very happy because I’m going back to being”, which reveals the deep significance of a way of life, their bonds to nature and community, in their expression of identity. In this way, this act of building represents an instance of emotional architecture since it is not only a useful place but a place of “sharing, sharing stories” built as a representation of identity.
