This year’s Open Call received 126 film submissions from 36 countries, spanning a wide range of genres - from artistic and experimental to ethnographic and documentary. These entries were carefully reviewed by the Selection Committee, established through a collaboration between INSTITUTO and two Algarve-based institutions: the Research Centre for Arts and Communication (CIAC) and Cineclube de Faro. The committee comprises a transdisciplinary team whose work intersects human rights, spatial production, digital media, and intersectionality: Ana Miguel Regedor, Isabel Cristina Carvalho, Mira Samonig, and Sílvia Leiria Viegas. In this debate session, the committee will reflect on the selection process, revisit key films and discussions, and engage in an open conversation with the audience.
