The 14 films selected for this year’s Official Programme compete for awards presented in alignment with the festival’s theme, “At the Border”. Each winning film will receive an original trophy designed by South African architect Sechaba Maape, created during his residency at INSTITUTO and produced in partnership with ArtWorks. The new trophy reflects on the stratification and identity of African architecture and is on display in the first-floor showcase at Batalha Centro de Cinema throughout the duration of the festival. The 2025 jury includes Fabrizio Gallanti (director of arc en rêve), Julia Albani (curator and critic), Romullo Baratto (architect, filmmaker, and project manager at ArchDaily), Teresa Novais (architect and curator), and Vasco Mendes (filmmaker). The Award Ceremony will feature the jury's announcement of the winners, along with reflections on their selections.
