Beginning in ghostly abstraction and building into a meditative visual and sonic intensity, Monument layers Super 8 and video to explore protest and reclamation. Footage of the decaying monuments of Presidents Park (Croaker, VA) intersects with scenes from Monument Avenue (Richmond, VA) during the Covid-19 pandemic and Black Lives Matter protests of 2020, forming a reflection on collective resistance and celebration.
