Detours is an experimental documentary shot in Lebanon between 2019 and 2021, exploring dislocation, memory, and shifting points of view. Through a practice of “peripheral vision,” the film constructs a narrative from sensory impressions, orientations, and images that remain outside the frame. Rather than documenting or analysing events, it conveys an experience of disorientation within them. The film combines Super 8, analogue still photography, and digital footage.
