Following the destruction of the August 4th explosion in Beirut, this film examines a material politics of glass embedded in a Lebanese collective memory and trauma. Through the genre of a film essay, it unpacks a history of repeated political violence that expand the semiotics of glass, revealing the different social and cultural disparities within the city's built environment. Glass’ material and narrative lifecycles illustrate the precariousness of urban life in Beirut, and the many dichotomies of the lived experience within it.
