A programação estrutura-se em três secções: o Programa Oficial, com uma seleção de filmes escolhidos a partir de mais de 160 submissões na open call internacional; o Programa Convidado, que nesta edição acolhe a Chair of Architecture and Urban Design da ETH Zurich; e o Portugal Special, com foco no contexto local, apresentando uma seleção de filmes e um programa que se estende à cidade. <img Os filmes selecionados, (co)produzidos em 22 países, percorrem diferentes geografias e contextos, revelando diversas formas de observar, habitar e imaginar a cidade, e evidenciando o cinema como uma ferramenta de análise, questionamento e projeção de futuros urbanos. Exploram as múltiplas dimensões da vida urbana - da habitação e do espaço público às infraestruturas, ecologias urbanas, mobilidades e identidades culturais - oferecendo uma leitura crítica e sensível dos desafios sociais, políticos e ambientais da atualidade. Todos os filmes foram submetidos através de uma open call internacional e estarão em competição, juntamente com 5 filmes da secção Especial Portugal, culminando numa cerimónia de entrega de prémios que distingue as obras vencedoras com um troféu original. The idea that architecture is capable of transforming cities and societies is widely accepted, but it is the actions of the people who inhabit and give meaning to architecture that carry the greatest weight in these processes. In its 10th edition, Arquiteturas Film Festival harnesses the power of moving images as a tool for promoting architecture. As well as film screenings, the festival programme features talks, tours and installations, which act as a springboard for more in-depth discussions of the themes and research behind the films. Arquiteturas Film Festival is organised by INSTITUTO and directed by architect Paulo Moreira. Founded in 2018, INSTITUTO is a Porto-based platform for discussing and disseminating architecture and its intersections with the visual and spatial arts, critical thinking and interdisciplinary collaborations. The festival will take place over five days, from 27 June to 1 July 2023, and will be divided into three main sections: Official Programme, Guest Institution Programme and Competition Programme.
