“Neighbourhood Unit” is a documentary film that narrates daily life in a social housing building through a tour of its living rooms.
This block is placed in A Coruña (Spain) and was promoted by Franco’s government in the 60s. It was designed by the architect J.A. Corrales and received the national architecture award in 2001.
Shot on 16mm, the film consecutively runs through the spaces and livings of a group of houses in this block, starting with the residual spaces of the building in contact with the ground, to finally reach its deck, with the city at dusk in the background.
