Week 13: 4 – 10 September

Arquiteturas team believes this break is a great opportunity to look back at the festival’s last seven editions and provide viewers staying indoors worldwide with a selected retrospective of free streaming films. Each film will be released every Friday, running until next year’s edition, and can be viewed for one week. This initiative aims to provide visibility to the films and the makers and their contribution to initiating great discussions through their build environment stories. A live Q&A with the filmmakers, producers or authors will be announced whenever this is made possible, via the festival’s Instagram and FB pages.

THE FREE STREAMING IS AVAILABLE BELOW FROM 4 -10 September

Bicicleta ARQUITETURAS’14 – BEST INTERNATIONAL FICTION SHORT AWARD Luís Vieira Campos, Portugal, 2014, 45′

The Aleixo’s neighborhood, in Oporto, is a place of myths where society tends to see big and problematic issues. However, for many who live there, the neighborhood stands as a home, the home of always, put there near the river, with sweeping and generous views, and without further alarm. As starting points, Bicicleta has the concept of neighborhood and family, the survival defined by principles of otherness that, in such a mythologized neighborhood setting, will become natural to the human being. It is a film about the folk side of life, the sharing of a space that will mingle with the everyday life, creating an interdependence that spreads the news and creates situations both dramatic and amusing.
