After six editions that had as a backdrop the modern architecture of the North of Lisbon in two emblematic and renovated neighborhood cinemas - the old Cinema Roma and Cinema Alvalade both located in Avenida de Roma, it is time to move and build new editions in Avenida da Liberdade, which, as a curiosity, in the 19th century opened the expansion of urban growth to precisely the north of the city. The seventh edition of Arquiteturas will take place in cinema São Jorge with a program that resulted from a long process of selection, with more than a thousand film submissions from a total of thirty-two countries. Of the total, fifty-five competition films have been selected that reflect the central theme of the festival - to tell stories about the urban environment that surrounds us; to open discussions bringing to Lisbon the most inventive works of the genre worldwide in short and feature length; revealing new authors and supporting the return of filmmakers that the festival has been following trough the years.

In the official selection we highlight the great movements from the history of architecture and design and complement with contemporary stories that celebrate the diversity of human nature.

The Netherlands is the guest country of this edition, by showcasing a new generation of authors, who nurture the connection between cinema and architecture, we will take a look at inspiring examples from a country reinvented by the hand of man.
