Based on the images of the Archive’s Library of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the authors created a short trip, – environmental, visual and sonorous -, through an utopian and ghostly city-state. In this imaginary Lisbon, the Electric Central continues to produce electricity, the engines of the brand new network of the subway works in slow motion, neons and night lighting work nonstop, the radio continues to broadcast Salazar’s speeches, but there isn’t the slightest glimpse of the human presence, there is not nobody to see and hear the pulse of the recent modernity. Only statues and acades inhabit the city.
